Karen Steger-May is a Research Statistician who joined the Division of Biostatistics in 1998. She received her Master’s degree in Educational Measurement and Statistics from the University of Iowa in 1997 and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri in 1994. Karen has served as lead biostatistician and data manager for several multi- and single-center clinical trials spanning a variety of clinical sciences such as internal medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and public health. She also provides biostatistical consultation for internal and external investigators.
Ms. Steger-May has established effectiveness in collaborative environments; and extensive experience with all phases of biomedical research including study design, protocol development, database design and management, quality assurance, statistical analysis, and publication.
